Ski Tours

HIRSCHBERG

The normal route up the Hirschberg is the perfect first-time tour, often for many Munich residents: short, easy and especially beautiful when the lift is not yet running. Even in bad conditions, the tour is doable, as long as you follow the alpine rules. It is at its best when there is fresh new snow. It is also ideal for combining a family day on the slopes with a short tour.

ROSSKOPF

The uncomplicated ski tour from the starting point Sutten to Roßkopf runs mostly along the piste and is therefore especially recommended at the beginning or end of the ski season.

1. What is a ski tour and how does it differ from classic skiing?

A ski tour combines the best of winter sports and experiencing nature by climbing uphill on special touring skis and then skiing downhill through untouched nature. In contrast to classic skiing on groomed slopes, ski touring takes place away from the crowds in untouched terrain. The ascents require stamina, while the descent often leads down natural slopes. Ski tours offer the perfect opportunity to slow down, enjoy the tranquillity of the mountains and be active at the same time.

2. What equipment is necessary for ski touring?

The right equipment is crucial for a successful ski tour. Ski touring skis with skins allow you to ascend safely in the snow, while a special touring binding makes it easier to switch between ascent and descent. Lightweight ski touring boots and poles offer stability and comfort. Safety equipment such as an avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe are also essential. Weatherproof clothing, a helmet and a rucksack with food and additional items of clothing round off the equipment to be prepared for all eventualities.

3. Why are ski tours ideal for nature lovers looking to slow down?

Ski tours offer the perfect opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and immerse yourself in the tranquillity of the winter mountain world. Away from the hustle and bustle of ski resorts, you can enjoy untouched nature, silence and spectacular views. The ascent is at your own pace, which creates space for slowing down and consciously experiencing nature. The tours also offer an opportunity to improve your fitness far away from the crowds and enjoy a unique winter sports experience at the same time.
